Sorry (again!) for the wait, there was a miscommunication and our camera got lost. But we had a great day at Spy Camp on Monday!!! :D The kids decorated T-shirts, did cover stories, yoga & gymnastics, and mind training. Unfortunately, due to our late start, we were not able to do our CFE. :( But all of our teams did earn two points for their good behavior! :)
T-shirts: Each year at Spy Camp, we give the kids plain white t-shirts to decorate however they want. One t-shirt even had a beautiful rendering of Benedict Cumberbatch on the front! ;)
Cover stories: A cover story is a plausible explanation for why you are on a spy mission. The kids had fun coming up with some... interesting cover stories... We had an 89 ear old grandma, a 600 lb baseball player, and so on. But the crazier they are, the more fun it is! :)
Yoga & Gymnastics: Spies need to be in top condition and be able to keep their cool in any situation, which is why we had the kids do some calming yoga and show off a couple of gymnastics moves. Great job to all of our amazing kids! :)
Mind training: Each of our counselors prepared a game to train the kids minds. In one game, the kids got to look at a cake pan full of various items for a limited amount of time. Then, when they pan was put away, they had to work together to remember every single item in the pan. Another game was called "I went to the zoo" where one kid would start off saying one animal, and the next person would repeat their animal and add their own until we had nearly twenty animals to remember!
Due to our late start (it really helps when the kids are on time! :D), we were unable to do our CFE on Monday. But each team earned two points for their good behavior! All of our counselors were pleasantly surprised how well the boys meshed in with the Spy Camp dynamic, and are happy we decided to add boys into the mix this year! :)
